WHEN YOU CALL AN INSPECTION COMPANY YOU SHOULD ASK:

  1. 1. Are you licensed by the state of New Jersey?
    2. What experience do you have?
    3. How long have you been inspecting?
    4. Are you the sole inspector?
    5. If the answer to #4 is no how many inspectors do you have and are they all qualified?
    6. How many paid inspections have you [or the inspector you send me] performed?
    7. How long does the inspection take?
    8. How do you get most of your business?
    9. May i attend the inspection and ask questions?
    10. Will you or your inspector explain the components of the home during the inspection?
    11. Will the inspector take pictures and include them in the report?
    12. Is your report a check list?
    13. Does the inspector work on a computer and print the report on the job site?
    14. If the answer to #13 is yes -- is the time spent on the computer included in the time #7 is answered?
    15. Is the report narrative and in laymans terms?
    16. How much will my home inspection cost?
